New nail obsession

February 7, 2011

I haven’t had a Minx mani in awhile–am an OPI Axxium devotee as of late. But I’m going to make time in between Axxium moon manis to fit in some DIY nail jobs because I’m loving the new  Sally Hansen Salon Effects. (BTW, if you want to try a moon mani at home, learn how to here).

The Salon Effects are somewhat similar to Minx except the strip is made of real nail polish (and to me it seems a bit stretchier and forgiving than the Minx polymer) and you simply smooth it down on your nailbed and file off the extra (no UV lamp required). I just applied Laced Up:

They last up to 10 days, according to Sally Hansen.  To remove them, you just use nail polish remover.

Available in stores this month, $9.95 each. Find the High-Fashion Patterns (which includes Laced Up) exclusively at Wal-Mart; and Shiny Neons and High-Shine Metallics at select drug and mass retailer.
