What to eat after you exercise

I’d run 16k that morning and was tired and a bit woozy in the afternoon when I interviewed Sarah Maughan for this thatsfit.ca story. And as we chatted, I discovered why I was feeling so out of sorts.

That was interesting… I never thought of eating protein following a run.

It’s something I knew from my running clinics…but that day I realized it took me about 45 minutes to walk home and by the time I cooked breakfast (it was bacon and a fried egg — so there was protein in it, but not exactly lean…) it was waaaay over the 30 minute window. I’m now toting a protein-rich snack with me to the Running Room so I can eat immediately after the run as I walk home.
