Yoga reduces cytokine levels

New findings from Ohio State University reveal that regularly practicing yoga may help lower cytokine levels in the blood. Cytokines are compounds that promote inflammation — inflammation that has been linked to heart disease, diabetes and other conditions. 

The expert yogis that participated in the study also demonstrated lower inflammatory response to stress. So it seems possible that you could eventually train your body to react less strongly to everyday stressors.

Yet another reason to make sun salutations a key part of your fitness regime if you aren’t practicing yoga already.
