The happiness gene

May 24, 2011

New research from the London School of Economic and Political Science shows that there is a happiness gene–and if you’ve inherited both the long-long versions of this gene (5-HTT) from your parents, you’re more likely to be very satisfied or satisfied with your life (compared to 19 percent satisfaction reported by those with the short-short version of the gene).

Which is not to say what happens in your life doesn’t play a role–so go forth and be happy! Some people just are naturally happier to start off.

Hmm, very true…but wouldn’t ever really know which genes you’ve got, so live as though you’ve got the long-long version!
