Swellness Sundays

(Anything I find swell. Posted on Sundays. Real scientific, I know…)

What my balcony currently looks like:

In other words, it’s not swell whatsoever. (That’s one very dead shrub — I’m no green thumb).

What I want my balcony to look like:

Pretty candleholders, trays, pillows and such, all from Indigo. The shades of calming blue and white have me dreaming of the trip I will make to Santorini one day (If I put it out there in the universe, it’ll come true, right? So there. It’s out there.)

Swellness Sundays

(Anything I find swell. Posted on Sundays. Real scientific, I know…)

(Salvor Fauna Raccoon mini cushion, Greener Grass Design)

Over the past few months I’ve been experimenting with various eyeliners. This new one from Mary Kay ($12)  goes on smoothly without dragging (making it much easier for someone like me who doesn’t have the steadiest or most confident hand for putting on liner) and even better, it doesn’t end up smudging beneath my eyes. Because that raccoon look is good on no one.

Other than actual raccoons.

(I own two Salvor Fauna pillows btw — but not this raccoon one; too many angry memories of them spilling our garbage EVERYwhere, those mother&%*% — erm, sweet, sweet animals, I mean).

Reinvent yourself

I hate to use the term “think outside of the box” (it gives me the heebie-jeebies), but a blog post written by Stephanie Klein that I read months ago really got me thinking out of the box when it comes to me.

What she wrote comes to mind when it comes to the clothing I apparently always gravitate toward (“Oh, that’s so Karen” says my sister whenever I show her a new purchase) or when I’m being forced to do something I’d much rather not (say, dealing with computer tech support, for example, because anything IT-related simply is not my forte) and I truly just wish G. would handle it because it should be considered one of his responsibilities.

Anyhow, I keep returning to reread Klein’s post every so often when I need a little nudge, and I thought it was worth sharing. (It does take awhile to get to the good stuff, but be patient and read it through).

P.S. On another note, country style is back in a big way, according to Canadian House & Home, and I’m totally crushing on these rustic boxes (above) from The Broken House.
