Leave your mat at home if you’d like and borrow one of the 100 mats Lululemon has loaned for the event. Plus, look forward to shaken green teas and the like from Starbucks, and SmartWater to hydrate post-class.

Look like you do yoga…

…by doing yoga.

Yoga can be a pricey practice — with classes costing nearly $20 a shot. Which is why you need to enter now to win the one Toronto Passport to Prana that Health & Swellness has got to give away.

The 2010 Passport for the T-Dot launches officially this Saturday, May 1st, and expires February 28, 2011. Think of how many downward dogs you can accomplish in all that time. This year, there are close to 70 — yeppers, SEVENTY — studios for you to try out. (Don’t know how Passport to Prana works? Check out my review.)

To enter, subscribe to Health & Swellness’s RSS feed or email notifications, and send an email with your full name, email and phone number to healthandswellness@gmail.com (please put Toronto Passport 2010 in the subject line). Deadline to enter is Monday, May 3, 2010 at 9 a.m. The one lucky winning yogi will be notified via email.

Wanna get your hands on a Passport asap? Visit Passport to Prana to buy one online or you can buy one at participating studios as of May 15th. Either way, at $30, it’s a steal!

Clubbing days

Did you head home for Easter weekend and get all wound up thanks to your folks and family drama? Were you wishing you could find some zen while you were there?

If you travel a ton (or just want to take your at-home yoga practice to the next level) the Gaiam Yoga Club will have you performing chaturanga better than ever.

Developed by Colleen  Saidman and Rodney Yee (one of my personal favourites when it comes to yoga teachers on DVD — I like his calm, soothing manner and A.M. Yoga for Your Week is in regular rotation for my home-based training), this 12-week online training program costs $5/week and offers nine hours of videos that guide you through 75 poses and over 60 downloadable audiocasts, not to mention of course the 12 weeks of yoga classes — which you do at your own pace (ie. if you’re not practicing weekly, the program will last you longer than the three months).

I think the club is perfect for jetsetters looking to keep up with their sun salutations while on the road (like when at home with the ‘rents) — it’s not always easy to find a yoga class when you’re in another city that fits your schedule and location. As a GYC member, if you’ve got your laptop (and an internet connection), you’re all set.
