Niceness is in your genes

Some people are sugar and spice and everything nice, but can you also think of a person or two who sure seem like they were born without the nice gene? Turns out this notion could be true.

Two hormones (oxytocin and vasopressin) flood our brains when we feel love or generosity. These hormones attach to hormone receptors. There are different kinds of hormone receptors. And if you’re born with one type of receptor over another, you’re more likely to be nice, says a study published in Psychological Science (Note that your upbringing and experiences also play a role in what type of person you develop into).

(I wonder if there’s a swellness gene.)
