…if you don’t want to pack on the lbs.

This is not good news for the night owl that I am: New research from Ohio State University has found that exposure to light during nighttime hours can affect your metabolism and lead to gaining weight, even without an increase in the amount of food you consume.

    Hi Karen, does the kind of light matter? I’ve read, I think, that red or blue light (sorry, can’t remember which) might mitigate the detrimental effects of nighttime light on shiftworkers. So maybe you can stay up late snacking if you put a red shade on the lamp?

    Really? Interesting. Although my neighbours might get mighty curious if I have a blue (or red) light on in my place, ha ha. Actually, I really should be going to bed earlier so I’ll try to use this finding of late-night lighting as motivation to get me to bed earlier.
