Holiday sweets

So I decided to bake oatmeal cherry cookies for friends and family this holiday season.

Sure, half the recipe is butter and sugar, but I figure the oats (whole grains! fibre!) and dried tart cherries (antioxidants! vitamins A and C!) make them somewhat more healthy, right?

Ok, not so much — besides the butter and sugar, the dried cherries are sweetened and there’s a cup of chocolate chips in the recipe, too. But as long as they enjoy them, that’s good enough for me. We all deserve to indulge every now and then without feeling guilty.
