Chocolate cough cure

December 20, 2010

A British drug company is working on developing a cough remedy made with theobromine, which helps in relieving a persistent cough. Theobromine is found in cocoa products.

Although there hasn’t been research into the quantity of actual dark chocolate you’d need to scarf down in order to relieve your cough, one expert is quoted as saying it’d be “theoretically possible.”

Sweet.

I know I’ll most definitely be stocking up on “cough remedies” at Mast Brothers Chocolate next time I’m in Brooklyn–although the wrapping is so gorgeous I’m always reluctant to tear into the bar!
