A smoothie by any other name…

June 9, 2011

…may be a milkshake? In a study published in the Journal of Consumer Research, researchers found that dieters are more often fooled by healthier sounding names given to foods than non-dieters: think “smoothie” instead of “milkshake”, “fruit chew” instead of “candy chew”, “veggie chips” instead of “potato chips”.

Take the time to have a look at the nutritional facts label to ensure that your healthy food is not merely a not-so-healthy food pretending to be good.
