Foodie Swellness: Tim Hortons Fresh Salads

Tim Hortons garden salad

It’s maybe so very Canadian of me, but I’m at Tim Hortons pretty often…you can always find one nearby so it’s extra convenient when you’re on the go like most of us are; I’ll grab a double-double during road trips to warm me up during a chilly walk home. And at Pearson Airport, I’ll usually grab breakfast there (I like their egg and sausage one) and if I’m traveling over lunch hour, I also add a sandwich to my order to bring on the plane.

But have you heard that Tims is now serving salads? Now available at all Tim Hortons locations are Fresh Salads and I already know I’ll be ordering these regularly. My schedule is pretty erratic so when I’m home in Toronto, I’m often dashing around the city and need a quick meal on the run. Also, since I travel regularly, my fridge is often empty right before I leave town and when I return to the city. Picking up a salad at Tim Hortons helps me not only get more veggies and lean protein into my diet as I juggle all of the the things I’ve got on the go.

(And while I have eaten their sandwiches while up in the air, I often prefer salads  for when I am on a flight (typically craving something light and lean when en route somewhere), and until now I’ve been forced to pay for overpriced ones from other restos at Pearson. I’m thrilled that I can now get a very affordable one at YYZ at Tim Hortons.

Available are a Garden Salad and a Caesar Salad, $3.99 each, and you can add a protein of your choice (grilled chicken, chicken strips or beef) for $1.99. My personal fave is the Garden with the grilled chicken and the balsamic vinaigrette.

Grab-and-go salad days FTW.
