The secret to living well into your twilight years? It might be a simple cup of Greek coffee daily.
A new study focused on the residents of the Greek island Ikaria, an island where they have the longest lifespans in the world. The researchers found that those who drank boiled Greek coffee (which is high in antioxidants and polyphenols and contains a moderate amount of caffeine), had better endothelial function (the endothelium being a lining of cells in our blood vessels).
While I could possibly buy this type of coffee at home, I think a trip to this island to try the real deal in Ikaria is in order; who’s with me?
