Nail-job craving: Been dying to try out the Essie neon Poppy Razzi collection, which is out in May, but had a few other manis (including my Chicago mani) before I could test out a shade. But that graffiti-ish Chicago mani was finally starting to show some wear and I have Harry’s Spring Run Off 8K tomorrow, so it’s perfect timing as I tend to gravitate to brights for my races.
How I satisfied that craving: Essie Weingarten suggests doing a coat of white nail polish before applying a neon nail poish so it worked out well that I have the opaque pale shade of Artistic Color Gloss in Sassy on my nails. Overtop of that I applied Essie in Camera and then top coat as the neons dry matte and I wanted shine.
How this nail colour make me feel: Like I’m back in university — the shade is much like the pink highlighters I used to use in school. Hopefully it’ll inspire me to have the same energy and stamina I had pulling all-nighters studying back then for my race tomorrow and for the 32k I have to run on Sunday for marathon training.
Love it or hate it: Love. I’ll be wearing this shade overtime this summer.

Nail-job craving: Earlier this week, I attended a media preview for the upcoming collections from Essie–Essie Weingarten herself was there, too (she had A List on her nails, giving props to Canada’s red flag), and the neon collection launching in May made my heart skip a beat, but today, when I got to go back to the Essie pop-up nail bar for a manicure, I was in the mood for pastels.
How I satisfied that craving: Miyuki from Tips Nail Bar hooked me up with Essie Who is the Boss (a pale, opaque blue) as the main colour on my nail bed and the tips in Cascade Cool (a purply pink).
How this nail colour make me feel: Fresh and ready for this spring weather.
Love it or hate it: Love.

Alas, no new nails for me this week as I still have my OPI GelColor Russian Navy/gold glitter-dipped mani, which, as you can see, is still looking perfect 13 days after I had it done at Tips Nail Bar.
But in the meantime, I wanted to share my friend Lindsay’s whimsical cupcake nails! I don’t have the patience or steady hands to do fancy nail art on my own, so am always mega envious of her skillz as a nail artiste — be sure to check out her blog Sometimes Fancy.
