A reason for coffee and dessert

Oh dear. I’m having a hard enough time resisting making regular pit stops at Krispy Kreme, and now I’ve just read some scientific findings that give me a valid reason to go:

Coffee with a sweet something on the side can help your brain function more efficiently according to study published in Human Psychopharmacology: Clinical and Experimental. It’s the combo of the coffee and sweet treat  that improves cognitive performance (particularly with your sustained attention and working memory).

Also making it even harder to refrain from daily sugar fixes? Bobbette and Belle in Leslieville. The brand new shop sells a delectable selection of sweets–from macarons and salted caramels to homemade vanilla marshmallows with toasted coconut and whoopie pies. The gorgeous, daylight-filled space boasts two communal tables–although I doubt they’ll be much sharing of treats (keep your hands off my plate, missy!)–and a sofa area making it feel homey, like you could spend every day there, sipping and nibbling.

Which would be OK, you’re only helping your brain work more efficiently, right?
