The Weekly Nail Report — the cat edition

I’d heard about Soft Claws awhile back, but never had a use for them. My cats  mostly use the scratch pad.

That is, until one kitty discovered her new favourite scratchtastic surface: drywall.

She’s been diligently destroying the walls in my place and so I’ve decided to try Soft Claws. You glue these soft plastic caps onto each claw (yes, there was tons of hissing and struggling) to help save your sofa and in my case, drywall, and they’re supposed to last about a month. So far, I’ve had to replace one or two claws (I think I clipped their claw too short for the Soft Claw to adhere to) but they seem to be doing their job.

For Kobe, he’s very much a man’s man, but I convinced him that the gold glitter claws would be the equivalent of a macho gold chain. And so he wouldn’t feel too sparkly solo, I put glitter on my nails, too, this week:

For Mya (aka drywall’s worst enemy), she’s very much a girly girl, so her nails are hot pink, and she takes every chance to show them off (and now she wants a regular post about her manis — what a diva I’ve created). Here are her pretty paws:

(And I swear I’m not a crazy cat lady, I just don’t want disintegrating drywall).
