Beauty Swellness: Sproos and Viviscal GIVEAWAY!

IMG_20190210_123607 (1)

I always find this time of year particularly tough. The month of January, you spend much of that month getting back into the swing of things after the holidays (plus for me, I have the fun of my birthday to look forward to!), but then February hits and it’s still cold and grey out and you realize there’s still a lot of winter to get through. So I thought as a pick-me-up, I’d hold a series of giveaways on Health & Swellness!

First up, I’m giving away this beauty prize package valued at $300! The prize includes:
  • 1 tub of Sproos Up Your Skin and Hair
  • 3 packages of Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements
  • 1 Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo
  • 1 Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Conditioner
  • 1 Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Elixir

I’m a bit late to the party but I have just recently started trying out some collagen products. The new Sproos collagen formulas offer sustainably sourced, highly-soluble collagen at 7grams per serving”. Formulated with hydrolyzed collagen peptides sourced from wild-caught North Atlantic fish, Sproos collagen helps to restore and rebuild your body’s natural collagen, benefiting skin, hair, joints, bones and gut health. Sproos Up Your Hair & Skin is green tea citrus flavour with five additional health benefits including organic acerola, hyaluronic acid, zinc, silica, biotin.

And my hair is so fine and weak so I was excited to attend a workout event a few months ago with Viviscal, where I learned about and got samples of the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo and Conditioner. In the prize package, you get the entire Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Range and the Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements, which work from the inside to promote thicker, fuller looking hair in as little as three to six months.

To enter:

Check out my Instagram post of the prize package and enter there. But you can get an additional entry by commenting on this post about which of the products you’re most keen on trying out.

This giveaway ends at 5 p.m. EST on Sunday, February 17, 2019. It is open to Canadian residents. The winner will be chosen at random and announced on my Instagram Stories on Monday, February 18, 2019.  The prize is awarded as is.

And be sure to stay tune for more giveaways!

Beauty Swellness: Running hairstyles by Cabello by Carolina

I first met Aylin Carolina of Cabello by Carolina at Nike Run Club through my friend Mel. I knew of her already through Instagram so it was nice to meet in real life and I was excited when she emailed me a few weeks later to ask to do my hair in a running-appropriate style and to chat running for her blog in her “Behind the Chair” series.

Aylin and her photographer came over a few weeks ago, and to be honest I wasn’t sure how a braid (which is what she had told me she had in mind for my hairstyle) would work with my hair (my hair is quite fine) but Aylin made the box-braided ‘do work (huzzah!) and then we went for a quick run together.

I had a 29k run with my training buddy planned right after this morning with Aylin, and I not only though like I looked pulled together with my hair braided for that run, but I didn’t feel like my usual hot mess; I may need Aylin to become part of my race prep because it was so nice to not have my sweaty hair bothering me during a run.

Her blog post is up now, in which I talk about juggling work, travel and training. Check it out here.

Beauty Swellness: Matrix Color Lounge App

I haven’t coloured my hair in a couple of years, but it’s definitely something I consider from time to time. But one reason I colour it rarely is because I worry about not being happy with the colour. It’s hard to imagine what I’ll look like with a particular colour or technique, but now a free colour consultation is as easy as making a few taps on your smartphone.

The new Matrix Color Lounge App (available for desktop, iOS and Android devices) lets you try different shades and styles (from ombre to painting, for example); all it takes is uploading a portrait and using the app to change your colour is pretty intuitive. With hundreds of combinations, you may find yourself playing with different looks for hours (I speak from personal experience!). Plus, there app also tells you what haircare products it recommends for your hair look (so you can be sure to keep it looking its best).

Go for a new look for spring perhaps? I know I’m considering it (I’ve got a deep auburn shade on here…).
