Fitness Swellness: Ted Baker Fit to a T activewear collection

FullSizeRender (61)

Florals don’t usually suit me. I’ve tried because I am sometimes drawn to them and most of the time they just feel too dainty for my style, but I’ve found a floral I’ve totally fallen for and as if the gym gods want me to work out more, it’s in a fitness collection: the Ted Baker Fit to a T activewear collection, which is brand new and in stores now. The graphic charcoal and the large pink blooms are just the fresh look needed to give your workout wardrobe a spring wake-up call.

I’m wearing a few of my favourite pieces from the line here, and you can check out the entire collection online at www.tedbaker.com.

Fitness Swellness: Lululemon x Peace Collective “Home is Here” collection

Home is Here men's t

This month of October, Canadian company Lululemon is celebrating our home and native land. They held events in cities across the country, which have now wrapped up, and they’ve also partnered with another community-focused company, the Toronto-based Peace Collective (you may recall I covered some of their apparel over on Vitamin Daily some while ago) for this collab collection, “Home is Here.”

The collection is exclusively available at Canadian Lululemon stores and on the website. Part of the proceeds from the sales will go to Breakfast for Learning, a Canadian charity dedicated to educating and empowering communities to create and sustain school-based nutrition programs and helping children and youth realize their full potential in life.

A stylish way to show your patriotic pride (and I’m keen to wear this bit of Canadiana when working on my fitness outside of the country).

And here’s a version of the national anthem produced by Lululemon and Giant Ant unlike any you’ve heard before.

Fitness Swellness: Aritzia’s Parklife apparel

Getting your sweat on this summer? Shedding layers of clothing with the blazing hot weather here is always a motivating factor for getting fitter than ever. And this summer, Aritzia has launched a fitness collection called Parklife. The pieces are made of stretchy technical fabrics and there are loads of cute prints and great colours.

I’ve been working out in a few pieces from the line that I received from Aritzia a few months ago. First at a sweaty barre class at Barreworks, then at  the Bower Fitness x Kalola retreat I attended at Blue Mountain Resort (that’s where the shot above is from; I’m with my friends Mel and Sasha who are both dressed in Nike Women) then on a few runs on my own and while hiking in Vancouver.

The fit of the unpadded Crown Bra is comfortable (I wasn’t sure of the plain elastic on the bottom of it, but it didn’t cause any chafing) but I’d say it’s best for low-intensity workouts. The Timeout Shorts are comfortable and don’t ride up on me, but they are definitely one of the shorter shorts in my workout wear collection, so I’d say I only tend to wear them on very warm days and when I’m feeling pretty fit (they don’t offer much coverage!). I also own the Rematch T-shirt in neon yellow and this fits snugly, too snugly for my taste (I usually wear a small and the small I have really hugs the body).

Parklife ranges from $15 for socks up to $65 for tights (although much of the collection is on sale right now).
