Florals don’t usually suit me. I’ve tried because I am sometimes drawn to them and most of the time they just feel too dainty for my style, but I’ve found a floral I’ve totally fallen for and as if the gym gods want me to work out more, it’s in a fitness collection: the Ted Baker Fit to a T activewear collection, which is brand new and in stores now. The graphic charcoal and the large pink blooms are just the fresh look needed to give your workout wardrobe a spring wake-up call.
I’m wearing a few of my favourite pieces from the line here, and you can check out the entire collection online at www.tedbaker.com.

New from Forever21? Activewear. From tights and sportsbras to tanks and capris, in a mix of solids and prints in sweat-wicking technical fabrics. All of it, like everything else from this fast-fashion chain, is super easy on the pocketbook: pieces range from $10.80 to $33.80.
I tested out the gear last week over a fun session of Skyrobics at Skyzone (an indoor trampoline park). Comfy and does the job, but as for wear and tear, I’ll have to put it through several uses and laundry cycles to determine that. Do try on the items first — sizes tend to run small, but it also depends on the style, too. I do love the playful touches (I need that charming heart-print sports bra!) and the functional details (a hole in the hoody so you can wear your hair up in a high ponytail!).
What better way to stay motivated with your get-fit resolution (don’t tell me you’ve already given up??) than some inexpensive new gear? A few of my fave F21 Activewear pieces:
Space Dyed Workout Shorts, $9.80.
Reflective-trimmed Performance Capris, $23.80.
Medium Impact Heart Print Sports Bra, $16.80.
Hooded Running Jacket, $33.80.

I’ve come to the realization that I have a bit of a problem when it comes to workout gear — I don’t feel guilty about buying more of it ever (after all, it’s all going to be worn when I’m doing something healthy — if you recall, I don’t believe one should wear yoga pants unless you’re in or going to or coming from yoga class).
So I have an overflowing trunk of it. That I keep adding to. And adding to. (I buy some pieces and am lucky enough to get gear to try out through work; friends also know they can’t go wrong with a birthday gift of a great running top).
And now Old Navy’s launched a new collection of gear, Active by Old Navy, that’s calling my name. Flattering fits (much improved over the gear I last tried from them) in super cute colours and patterns.
I’m gonna need a new trunk.
