Eco-friendly shampoo for all of us runners

I replied to a reader’s running question a few weeks ago–she was concerned that all the frequent shampooing was not great for her hair. And Greg May suggested using a sulphate-free shampoo, which would be gentler on your hair.

And it completely slipped my mind (til today) that someone asked me on Twitter if there are any sulphate-free shampoos I’d recommend.

To be honest, I haven’t tried that many SLS-free shampoos, but one line I adore is Live Clean. Every one I’ve tried from Live Clean smells fantastic–really freshly scented–and do a great job of cleansing (and I’ve never noticed that they suds up less than a sulphate-full shampoo).

How much do I love these shampoos? I get a lot of hair products to try out and write about, more than I can possibly ever use, so I often end up sharing them with friends and family. And yet none of them have ever received any from Live Clean. Open my closet and it’d look like a  Live Clean-sponsored episode of Hoarders.

Live Clean’s just launched a new version, the Exotic Shine Bali Oil Collection, which promises to make your hair sleek, shiny and smooth thanks to its coconut and palm oil formula, and you’ll find it at Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal-Mart and Loblaws ($6.99 each).
