Stop mind-wandering, be happy

We’re happiest when:

  • making love
  • exercising
  • engaging in conversation

That’s according to a new study out of Harvard. (As for when we’re least happy? When we’re working, using a home computer or resting–yup, you read right, kicking back and enjoying some R&R is on the least happy side of things).

Seems that being in the moment and not having one’s mind wander is a strong predictor of one’s happiness. Bad news? Our minds wander nearly 50 percent of the time.

Your happiness prescription then based on these findings? Trying meditation or some other sort of practice where you focus on being in the now. And switch off that computer now and again.

P.S. OK, is it just me or does this image make you dizzy? Let me know if I need to take it down…
