Have an upcoming games night and looking to crush your opponents? Make sure you get your zzz’s.
A Washington University study that focused on 24 students found that the students who slept in between studying and taking a computer word game test performed very strongly on the test. The researchers speculate that during slow-wave sleep, the hippocampus takes recently learned memories and moves them over to the long-term storage area of the brain.

I sleep so much lately that I’d be unbeatable at game night! Hmmm…I may just have to plan something so that I can crush my opponents (if I can stay up late enough that is).
