New data from an American Academy of Dermatology online survey, ”Suntelligence: How Sun Smart is Your City?”, revealed that 72 percent of the more than 7,000 respondents believe that people look more attractive with a tan.
Hate to admit it, but I agree–most people do looked more attractive with a bit of a tan–but that’s why you need to invest in self-tanner and sunscreen, ladies!
On a positive note, 75 percent said they would will do anything possible to prevent skin cancer.
And if that’s something you agree with, you might want to check out a myskincheck.ca, new website from La Roche-Posay (their Toleriane line is one of my very faves).
After having checked out the site, I’m somewhat surprised no one else has developed such a useful, interactive website before now. Besides providing info on how to assess your personal risk levels and the like, myskincheck.ca also offers the Mole Checker, a tool that allows you to map the moles on your body onto an illustration that is saved into your online profile. (I think it’d be awfully helpful, too, if they could add a feature where you could upload a picture of each mole, so you could track any changes in the asymmetry, border, colour or diameter of your mole’s over time). You can also print out your profile to bring with you to your dermatologist.

Thanks so much for the information! Although I was always a fan of outdoor tanning as well as, eek! indoor tanning, I will now invest in a good self tanner and sunscreen to get the best of both worlds without putting my health at risk.
